Biographies
He is active in the local community, serving on the YMCA board for 10 years and
president for 4 years. He is a member and past president of Rotary, and has been
active in local politics. His dedication to the community is evidence of a desire to
help others both through community service and the practice of law.
Lewis McEwen grew up on a
small farm in Mercer County.
During his early years, he
was active in the 4H Club and
president of his high school
class. He served 8 years in
the US Air Force working with
Titan missiles and working
on his law degree. While in
the Air Force, he returned to
Grove City and taught ROTC
at Grove City College.
Tedd Nesbit was raised in
Grove City, Pennsylvania. He
graduated from Kennedy
Catholic High School, in
Hermitage, Pennsylvania and
then attended Florida State
University and graduated
with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Political Science in
1989. Following college, Tedd
moved to Atlanta, Georgia
where he pursued a career in
film and television and subsequently moved to Columbia, South Carolina where he
worked for several years as a television news reporter at the local CBS affiliate. It
was during his time as a reporter covering trials in South Carolina that Tedd
discovered his passion for litigation. In 1998, Tedd and his family moved back to
Grove City and took a position as Human Resource Manager for a regional trucking
company.
In 2001 Tedd began his weekend commutes to Thomas M. Cooley Law School in
Lansing, Michigan. Each weekend for three years, Tedd commuted to Lansing for law
school. Despite being a weekend student, Tedd was named to the Dean’s list every
term he was at Cooley. He won the Sol Seigal award for academic excellence. He also
won the interschool Moot Court Competition, was on the National Moot Court team
and was named assistant editor of the Law Review. In 2004, Tedd graduated Magna
Cum Laude from Cooley with a juris doctorate degree. He was given the Alumni
Association’s Distinguished Student Award for his graduating class.
Following graduation from Cooley, Tedd passed the Ohio and Pennsylvania bar
examinations and then spent a year as judicial clerk to the Honorable John C. Reed,
Common Pleas Court of Mercer County. He joined McEwen and Nesbit in 2005.
Tedd and his wife Shannon, live in Grove City, Pennsylvania with their three children,
Bailie, Charlie and Mary Belle.
